PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE NOVEMBER 2023

Things are going well for the Drifters! Steve had a good program of bike runs and membership participation was rising. Under Steve’s leadership we have a few new members that have joined or are riding with us and will possibly join soon.
David Long, an experienced ride leader, has volunteered to be Drifter Head Road Captain. He has already lead a great ride to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon for Elk Chili at the lodge and last Thursday a run to Valley of Fire and lunch in Overton, Nevada at the new CABLP joint that replaced Sugar’s.

David intends to have our Thursday rides pre planned so everyone knows how many miles are involved and what clothing is required etc..

We also have our impromptu Saturday meet ups at Zion Harley Davidson to get free coffee and then do a ride for lunch somewhere. We have a good time telling lies, kicking tires, and bringing other Drifters up to date on our latest doctor visits. Most of us show up at Zion between 10:30 AM and 11:00. Some not until 11:30. REMEMBER….. All makes of bikes are welcome at Zion Harley, even Indians, so come on out!!!!!!

We also have Thanksgiving covered by planning turkey dinners with all the trimmings at The Black Bear Diner on Thanksgiving day at 3:00 PM. Everyone has enjoyed the holiday dinner in the past. We have attended the dinner several times before. You need to RSVP to me for this event. You can bring family members with you. Just let me know how many in your party. Please, no emotional support animals, especially horses, alligators, feral pigs etc. Unicorns okay.

Of course our annual Christmas party will also be a boffo gala for us. It will be held December 16th at classy Chef Alfredo’s on Bluff Street here in St. George. Details will continue to come out in November.

Also a new idea for a fun, tasty, Drifter get together at a discount price, has developed. Every month that has 31 days means a Drifter meet up at Baskin Robbins next to Bloomington Walmart for discount ice cream cones or cups. We met for the second time on October 31st. Be there at 2:00 PM each month on the 31st! REMEMBER that all club members are encouraged to suggest, plan, and lead rides too. Just let David know what you have in mind so we can get your ride on the calendar. Your ride can be on one of our Thursday dates, a weekend, or any other day. It can be an overnight or even a multi day ride.
