President’s Message September 2025

We are through our summer months, and now we head towards fall looking forward to a little cooler milder riding weather and here comes the season of changing colors!

I had the pleasure of finally getting to ride up north this past weekend, pretty much the 1st riding that I’ve been able to do in over a month, unfortunately work comes first and it seems like all my recent Thursdays have been the day of choice for work things to happen.

A group of six of us, mainly family rode up to Huntsville and picked up our second half of our riders and headed up over Monte Cristo where we saw some amazing views and the beginnings of the fall colors, we then proceeded down the east side of Monte and rode north through the towns of Woodruff and Randolph and then over to Bear lake where we rode up the east side of the lake, across the top of the lake where we had lunch of Burgers and Raspberry shakes at the Bears Den. We then rode north then west over to Prescott, Idaho and then south through the Cache Valley and down Sardine Canyon and south back to Salt Lake, a beautiful day with almost 400 miles of riding.

Sadly, I missed most of our local riding and I heard there were some good ones, including Caliente, Circleville, and Jacob Lake, all favorites of mine. I can’t wait to hear more about the rides.

It’s almost time to hold our annual meeting and select our officers for the next year. I am suggesting we schedule it for Saturday. October 11th. We will have a social hour from 4-5pm, potluck dinner from 5-6pm and the meeting following dinner at 6pm. Please RSVP with our Treasurer Lynne Piper at 435-691-5576. Lynne will also be coordinating the potluck items, so be sure to let her know what you’ll be bringing to share. The club will provide water & soft drinks. David may also need extra tables and chairs, I am available to pick any up if needed.

At this meeting you will have the opportunity to nominate and select officers for the next year, all officer positions are open for nominations including President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. We also are looking for volunteers to take over for Mike Roe as Membership Coordinator and also Dawn Derenski as our Webmistress, both Mike and Dawn have served our club long and well and have asked to be released from their duties, please consider volunteering for either of these positions and playing an active role in continuing support of our wonderful club.

On a final note, we heard from Mike Roe about the change in venue for Saturday meet ups earlier last week, if you have any suggestions for other meet up places, please let us know, we look forward to your suggestions.
