September 2021 Newsletter
From the President:
Quite a few of us had an excellent time riding around southwestern Colorado and northwestern New Mexico last month. The Derenski’s planned a really nice ride. We rode excellent roads, saw gorgeous scenery, visited some Indian ruins, and some good food, and best of all, we hung out with friends. I’m sure Mike will have a full write up for the ride.
This will be my last newsletter as president of the Drifters. We will have a business meeting later this month and elect new officers. I won’t be able to continue to serve, as I’m headed to Manitoba, Canada in October for 18 months. It causes me to reflect on the 2 years I’ve been with the Drifters and 1 1/2 years as the president. What a pleasure it has been associating with this group and becoming friends with them. Of course there were differences in opinions, riding styles, and personalities along the way. But this group has been mature enough to let that crap go and just have fun riding and hanging out. Thanks to all those that helped me in my role as president. And that’s most everyone. It’s not that easy when you don’t really know what you’re doing. I’m going to miss riding with you, but I’ll be back!
