President’s Message July 2025

Hot summer nights ( and days ) are upon us. Its ironic how in winter months we seek out the warmer rides and long for the warmer months and better weather, but now that we’ve had it for a few months now and that needle continues its upward movement, we can’t wait for the cool down to begin.

While I haven’t been on a lot of rides down here yet this summer, I’ve been lucky enough to enjoy some fantastic mountain rides up north. While my son was home on leave this summer we made trips up around Bear Lake , the Mirror lake highway, and the Alpine loop up around Sundance and Guardsman pass areas.

My son has left for Camp Lejune, North Carolina and left us with a bit of a void. We really enjoyed our time riding up north with his new girlfriend and her parents who also ride.

We will soon see him again as we take his bike to him in a few weeks so that he can have transportation back east.

Rally season is upon us again and the Panguitch Old Skool Rally is just around the corner, in fact its next week. Marilyn and I will be attending along with family and friends, I hope some of you are coming up to join us. I will be heading up to Panguitch next Thursday the 10th,  I’ll probably see everyone for the meet up for next weeks ride and then head up there as you set out on the weekly ride. I will be staying in Panguitch staying thru Sunday. There are some fantastic rides out of Panguitch and the events at the rally, such as the bike rodeo and the nightly band “ Jagertown” always make the nights fun. We are again staying at the Dixie Forrest camp ground on the edge of town. Friday night we will host a bbq at our camp site for anyone that would like to attend. Just bring your meat and a side or dessert and we’ll have a great time. Please text me for details if you plan to come, 801-688-0564.

I also have tentative plans to make the trip to Durango at the end of August to attend the 4 Corners Rally, if anyone else is considering maybe going to this rally, please let me know and we can coordinate travel and or lodging, I will most likely take my motorhome there also.

I’m going to try to make the ride this week, if I can’t (because of work) I will try to be there at meet up time to see everyone off.
