April 2025 Presidents Message

PRESIDENTS MESSAGES

Its April and it’s a beautiful time to ride! Or is it?

Depends on the day, the time of day, and what part of town you live in,

Its hot, it’s cold, it’s dry, it’s, wet, it’s snowing.

Welcome to spring riding in southern Utah, it’s the best.

Welcome to riding season, we are fortunate to live in an area that we can ride in different directions to get to different climates and enjoy a day out on our bikes.

I would like to start off by wishing Mike Roe a speedy recovery after it at’s been reported that he was bucked off by his new trike that he bought from Don. Apparently, it was not ready for a new rider. All kidding aside, we wish you a speedy recovery Mike, you will be missed while you recover.

We lost a long time Drifter, Greg Clark passed away last week. I did not personally know Greg, but he and his wife Bonnie were previous members of our club. Family friend and previous member Tom Fabio and has suggested that those who would like to honor Gregs passing raise a toast of Gregs favorite drink, Jim Beam. Greg fought a year long battle with cancer and passed away last Thursday surrounded by his family.

April starts the riding season all over Utah and surrounding areas, please keep and eye out for events that our members might be interested in such as Poker runs, memorial rides, bike shows, bike rallies, car shows and such.

We had a few good rides this month, last weeks ride was particularly memorable riding out through Colorado city, enjoying Cuban sandwiches in Kanab and returning thru Zion for a beautiful ride thru The Park.

We also enjoyed the opening event at the new Moto United, we got to see all the new bikes and some great looking used bikes, what an awesome facility, if you haven’t made it over there yet, it’s a must see. A few of us went for a ride thru the gorge to the Dam Bar and had a food truck burger there and returned using old Hwy 91.

Our March 20th ride took our group to the buffet at the Virgin River, I haven’t heard any tales about this ride but if you have stories please share.

March 22nd, we enjoyed our monthly dinner night at Rusty’s in Cedar City, the food did not disappoint, and the service was very good. Rusty’s is always worth the drive!

This month’s dinner is at Fishrock Grille at the Ledges, they have great food and reasonable prices, please get Lynn your reservations quickly as this is already fast approaching on the 12th @ 6pm.

Several of our members are making the trek to Laughlin/Bullhead City to the Mayhem Rally later this month, sure wish I could go, but our new Del Taco by Sun River is opening the same week and unfortunately, I still have a job and my wife says I have to work. This sounds like a great ride and rally to attend with lots of suggested side fun to be had during the trip.

I plan to attend the Panquitch rally again this year, they are going through some growing pains with this rally as the promoters have had a falling out and have gone their separate ways. I am told that the rally will still take place the weekend after the 4th of July and that there are some significant changes taking place and announcements are coming soon.

I am also planning on going to the Four Corners Rally the last weekend in August in Durango Colorado.

I hope to see every one at our new Del Taco opening, I will be sending out an invite to everyone to come celebrate with us when I know exact dates.

I will be sporadic at attending rides and events the next several weeks due to our new store opening, but I will join when I’m able.

Ride Reminders:

Every Thursday Drifters ride

Every Saturday, meet up at Zion Harley for coffee, tall tales, and a possible ride.

Have a safe April!
