December 2021 Newsletter

First of all I want to thank everyone who celebrated Thanksgiving at the Black Bear. Sorry that I couldn’t be there but the Holidays are upon us and schedules are packed. And that brings me to our upcoming Christmas extravaganza at Magleby’s. We have 23 Drifters signed up and ready to party. And guess who will be hobbling in to join us, no not me, but Danny boy and his wife Teresa. Teresa isn’t hobbling just Dan.
For those of you who haven’t heard Dan got wiped out by a driver who made a left turn in front of him. And besides his personal injuries, his beloved bike with nearly 200K miles had to be put down—RIP. We’re glad that Dan is on the mend and will be at the Drifters Christmas party. A Word of Caution, drivers making left turns are a major factor in motorcycle accidents. 75% of all motorcycle accidents are with another vehicle and 2/3 of the accidents are caused by the other vehicle violating the motorcycle’s right-of-way and especially at Intersections.
Well enough of that, we continue to have some great rides on Thursday. This Thursday, on the 2nd of December, while David is freezing up north, 7 Drifters rode to Enterprise. And get this, even at the top of the pass the temperature was only 50. Better yet no wind, no traffic, it was a great day.
So what else is happening? It’s almost the end of 2021 so get ready for our traditional Polar Bear run. You still have time to ask Santa for some thermal undies and heated gloves! Watch for the details later.
A Final word for those who signed up for our Christmas Dinner; It’s at Magleby’s on December 11 at 6:00 p.m. See ya there.
See ya on the RoadSteve “The Prez” signing out
